Commitment to Safety

A safe workforce is an efficient workforce

Jobsite safety is important because in the construction industry, one mistake can lead to a chain reaction of negative effects.

Not only do we want all our employees to leave the jobsite at the end of their shift in the same condition as they started it, but we want them to work safely to prevent any unnecessary downtime or work stoppages.

A safe workforce is an efficient workforce. The less downtime on a jobsite due to injury or worse means a higher rate of productivity, which leads to the project being completed on time.

The Superior Industrial Insulation Company proudly focuses on safety throughout each project to minimize the risks to everyone involved, and our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) reflect this commitment.

The Superior Safety Program

Our safety program and practices are intended to produce zero incidents, zero recordables and no lost time on every project, regardless of size. These practices are designed to include:

  • Complete commitment to safety from our management team, all the way up to the President
  • Thorough pre-job and daily pre-task planning
  • Employee participation
  • Recognition and rewards for performance
  • Ongoing safety training and education, including OSHA 30-hour training for the project management team and a minimum of OSHA 10-hour training for all field personnel
  • Having an OSHA instructor on our staff
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Accident/incident investigation and reporting

A Culture of Safety

Our field personnel are highly trained and skilled tradesmen and tradeswomen. To ensure our employees’ safety at work, we enforce stringent safety standards and regulations, including the use of personal protection equipment (PPE), required fall protection, safety meetings and many other precautions.

Working safely is not luck. It’s a trainable skill, and at Superior, it’s part of our culture. The safety mindset begins at the top of the company and is expected to be followed by all our employees.
